2024 Roth Thanksgiving

The time has come that we consider a new Thanksgiving tradition that’s more sustainable and enjoyable for everyone, especially those who were traditionally tasked with hosting.

This year, anyone who would like can join together on November 30 at Pour Corner (front event room) in Avon for a catered Thanksgiving feast. We have the venue reserved 2PM to 9PM. The meal will be served at 5PM. Each person will pay for their own serving, which means we need a formal RSVP no later than November 22. Adult servings are $13, kid servings $8. The meal will be catered by Buchholz Catering, and will include turkey & ham, sides, and plates & utensils. Bring your own drinks or plan to purchase them at the venue. You may wish to consider contributing desserts and snacks, since those are not included. Comment in this event with your intended contribution to help alleviate an overabundance.

But that’s not all!

For those interested, Emily and whoever else would like to join will be making porch pots at Mensch’s Greenhouse as we have done the past few years. If you are interested in doing this, we are meeting as a group there at 3PM that same day. Call 605-286-3638 to reserve your spot ASAP if you are interested, as these fill EXTREMELY quickly!

Also, the annual Avon Parade of Lights and associated activities are on this day. Details have yet to be announced, but last year, this included bingo, kid’s activities, prize sign ups and more throughout the afternoon, followed by a parade (last year this was at 6PM). We’ll be in a prime location to both participate and watch these festivities for anyone interested.

SO, come early for the fun (pinochle game, anyone?), and stay for food and family. Should be a great day together!
